Videon Smythe of 'SpectraSonique' reviews Patrik Gryst's career to date...

“Occasionally an artist emerges with a unique talent and vision, and a luscious mulit-coloured sonic palette.

Patrik Gryst is such an artist.  His music, influenced by diverse landscapes and genres, effortlessly captivates and transports the listener to new musical territories.

From derelict industrial terrains to frozen fjords, Gryst's synth-driven narratives draw inspiration from early electronic music, film soundtracks, and dystopian fiction. Since the launch of his solo career launched in 2018, Gryst has showcased his versatility in EDM, Ambient, Orchestral, and Soundtrack genres.

Meticulous in production, Gryst crafts immersive auditory experiences, pushing the boundaries of electronic music. His trio of album releases in 2021 explored hauntological pastiches,‘Creepy House,' ‘Gothic Techno,' and Arctic-inspired, glacial soundscapes. Notable lockdown creations followed: 'Shadow Progressions' (2023) and 'New Human Adventures’ (2024).

2024 also saw the fruits of his collaboration with Swedish multi-instrumentalist Karin Kass on their  'Scandinavian Homes' project and Kass’s debut solo album ‘Clean But Still High’.

A true sonic innovator, Gryst continues to captivate listeners and shape the future of electronic music and it is only a matter time before his compelling soundscapes command a wider audience.”  Videon Smythe - SpectraSonique
